How To Make Punch

A punch is the perfect way to host a party while still being able to actually enjoy the party. Here we make two delicious punch recipes that are simple and can be prepared ahead of time. 




Ruby Punch

  • Peels of 2 lemons

  • 1/2 cup superfine sugar

  • 4oz (120ml) fresh lemon juice

  • 16oz (~500ml) apple brandy

  • 8oz (240ml) ruby port

  • 2 cups (500ml) water

  • Large ice block

  • 1 tsp nutmeg

  1. Add lemon peels and sugar to a large bowl, muddle and let sit for over 4 hours

  2. Stir in lemon juice, brandy, port, and water

  3. Store in fridge until ready to serve

  4. Strain out lemon peels, add ice block, and grate fresh nutmeg over the top

Makes 8-10 servings

Ginger champagne punch

  • 10oz (~300ml) maraschino liqueur

  • 10oz (~300ml) cognac

  • 24oz (700ml) ginger beer

  • 1 bottle (750ml) of rosé champagne / sparkling wine

  • Lemon wheels for garnish

  • Large ice block

  1. Combine maraschino liqueur and cognac into a punch bowl with large ice block

  2. When ready to serve, add ginger beer and sparkling rosé

  3. Give a quick stir and garnish with lemon wheels

Makes 10-15 servings
